Life at the retreat will at first feel like a bubble of tranquility and peace. You will settle in fast and enjoy having the time to sit, walk, talk and both learn and practice. There is no other place to be, nothing to be done and no part you have to play in order to fit in. It's a taste of freedom.
We eat together often and share time both inside and outside of the sessions. One of the first things to strike you, will be the peace of like-minded people with a shared focus. Everyone is here to essentially set themselves free and learn to stop and find their inner peace.
That means stopping the overthinking, stopping the endless doing, stopping the need to chase people, places and things in order to be happy, and stopping all the worry and avoidance of the things we fear. It's also above getting back all the effort and energy lost in pretending to be someone you're not. It's a journey back to authenticity.
There is nothing to chase and nothing to avoid, nothing to be and nothing you need to have, and nowhere other than here that you need to be while in this bubble, and that quickly helps peace descend.
The community is a group of peaceful and supportive, like-minded beings, embracing a profoundly new way to think and live. You will have your own space and can plan your own day, and whilst all activities are optional, everyone has their personal plan to guide them and the retreat schedule to offer an ideal structure.
Karma meditation means the community are encouraged to find presence and practice as they help in the gardens, kitchen and growing spaces, sharing in the creation of our food and environment. We call these karma butterfly activities, which helps us to cease differentiating activities and experiences as work or play which allows us to live life without resistance. It also brings a culture of rewardless service and contribution too, something that always brings peace and joy to a community.

30 days or more of complete immersion and isolation, outside of your everyday reality has huge, life-changing value.
Deep and profound change takes time to embed and happens best outside of our normal lives. When there is time to stop, be still and to change repetitive triggers, patterns, people and surroundings something magical occurs.
Only in stillness do we see that there is another way to think and live. We have all been conditioned to live non-stop, hectic lives, endlessly chasing things to be, do, have and places we need to go while constantly avoiding a long list of what feels like it may imminently go wrong, and it has now become a compulsive, life-long habit.
Old habits and thought patterns must be seen, understood and unlearned in the absence of active anxiety and triggers. Which means it all takes time, so 30 days is our recommendation and is not as long as it may seem. Extending your time here is often possible but if you have the ability to stay longer and we have availability, the strong recommendation is stay as long as you're able.
Immersion in the always-on, peaceful retreat schedule of practice, facilitations, alone time and support activities is proven to embed and integrate better with time, and will enable you to deeply let go and permanently remove the sticky, life-long habits that no longer serve you.
